Have you ever heard of Satay Celup before?
Satay Celup is famous for Chinese and a trade mark for Malacca.
Malacca famous for Lok Lok that cooked in Satay sauce named as Satay Celup. Compared to Lok Lok which is dipping raw foods into hot water, this is dipping into hot peanut sauce.
It’s a dish where raw or semi-cooked food, meat, vegetable, fish ball and seafood are dunked into a hot boiling pot that full of satay sauce.
Among the many Satay Celup restaurants, Ban Lee Siang was our main choice because of the good reviews that I heard about it and it is near to our hotel too.
A hot bowl of Satay sauce is available on every table, they never change the dipping sauce even after previous customer. The sauce will be recycled and recooked. This means the pot of sauce was also used by tens to hundreds of customers who dined at the same table before you.
The pot of satay sauce continues to boil as long as there are customers having Satay Celup. The workers will top up the satay sauce when it runs low.
The worker will constantly stir the bowl to avoid the food stick at the bottom of the pot.
There are a few big freezers that you can get some other ingredients based on your preference. All the foods were stored in refrigerator to preserve the freshness.
This is the maximum I can eat and it only cost 60 cents per stick.
Be honestly, actually for me most of the food was just so so. I only found 2 things I liked which are vegetables and oyster mushrooms, but overall it tastes good. Ban Lee Siang is one of the top contender for Satay Celup in Malacca.
Looking for best satay celup in Malacca? Ban Lee Siang definitely is your first choice.
